Ridiculously nervous - wish I had the week off work.

Hard to compare to last year, but it definitely isn't any easier.

I spent last year's GF week in an anxious, dream-like state, but quietly confident that the force of history would get us over the line. This year I'm quietly pessimistic and trying not to get my hopes up. After all, it'll probably go close and be a pure roll of the dice again...

I find myself walking around in that dreamy state, can't keep my mind on anything except Saturday, I just hope the result does not go down to the last kick of the day again, I don't think I can go through it again.

I don't want to predict a result incase I put some sort of Jinx on us, anyway just please win, I really really want to win.

Last year I had the week off before the game and was able to soak up the atmosphere, remember driving down to South Melbourne after the street parade and walked through the market and was happily surprised at the way the vendors had dressed it up in red and white. This year im verging on a basket case nerves are shot and these next 2 days im on nights, god I wish it was Saturday.

3 more sleeps? I imagine that it will be only 2 sleeps with a very tossing & turning Friday night!! Plus an early wake up on Sat morn feeling very refreshed - because adrenaline is a wonderful thing

I took the last 2 weeks of September off. Put in for them 3 months ago. Figured I might need it...;.

I'm also on leave thsi week and last and I think that its really helped keep my mind on other things and not get as nervous. Maybe I'm also a little more confident after winning it last year and getting that monkey of our back.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

If you take a lot of No Dose between now and Saturday it could be no more sleeps. But oyu migtht also pass out during the tedium of the pre match entertainment and not wake up until after the final siren. That'd even be worse than falling asleep on the train and waking up in Newcastle!
