There was a St. Kilda fan complaining to Jim Main in Inside Football about Sydney's freakily good run with injuries. If Kerr hasn;t been training for the best part of two months, that's only good news.
Then again, MOL has a very light training schedule...10100111001 ;-)Comment

I don't want them having any excuses as to why they got beaten again.... Sick of hearing how they never play as at full strenghth and that's the only reason we beat them...Comment

Excellent... Bring them all... In fact, let them bring Woosher in off the bench along with Sumich and have Malthouse coaching them.

It's a big risk playing injured players and Wirrpunda and Kerr must both have some self doubt about their fitness. It will only help the Swans if they play."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

Micky O barely trains, there also other players who dont train with the side on a regular basis. This is not due to injury risk, but part of the strategy to avoid soft tissue injuries. Kerr is fit, he will play, and there is little doubt he will have a huge impact - we were lucky last year he got injured mid way through the game.I'm Flyin' High...Comment

I wouldnt have thought there is much doubt over Kerr given his performance against adelaide. If you applied your "no training = big risk" then we spend the majority of the second half of the season at risk.

The same may apply to MOL and others but the extra week's break certainly seems to have assisted based on last week's observation - a point that has been made already by many.Comment

Kerr's injury was a calf injury - he had no problems running out the game agains the crows, i dont see him suffering end of season fatigue
Wirripanda could be considered supsect given it is a hammie, and the are prone to "twanging" ie. remember Nick Davis' 10 second return last year. Fatigue isnt a factor here, but sprinting is - expect Schneids to test him out.
WIth regards to Cousins, not sure why your bringing him up. He is regarded as one of the fittest in the AFL. He had the most impact in the QF when McVeigh could no longer run with him in later stages of the game. SImilarly, this occured in his game against Adelaide, he was relatively quiet until late in the 3rd - at which point he was everywhere. If anyone is unlikely to suffer from fatigue, its Cousins. In fact, "as the game wears on" he is the danger man, along with Judd. I would argue the running capacity of Judd and Cousins cannot be matched by any other players - and it always shows late in the game. Its when they pop up everywhere, and a reason why WC have made so many miracle comebacks this year.I'm Flyin' High...Comment

The evidence on Kerr is that he didn't finish training - in fact only lasted for 10 minutes.

As I said earlier, many of our players do not even get on the paddock, and still play effective games without sign of fatigue.
I'm merely trying to be devils advocate, as people are getting excited about Kerr not training, which in reality is a non-event given how often it occurs. Given that our players do the same thing consistently, as a training strategy, it seems a bit presumptious to be calling it as a big risk.I'm Flyin' High...Comment
