Media coverage in Sydney

The media coverage in Sydney this week of the GF has been quite extraordinary. Swans and GF news has dominated the front and back (main sports) page of the SMH and the Telegraph. Right now I'm listening to Adam Spencer broadcasting ABC 702 live from the Alexandria Hotel. The Swans/AFL GF also apear to be dominating sports news on most radio and TV stations (Ch 9 being an exception - onya Eddie).

What with the Swans being in the GF, no Sydney team in the NRL GF and Goodes winning the Brownlow, NRL headquarters and Ch 9 must be in despair. It will be interesting to see how both games rate on TV in Sydney as well as how many people actually turn up at the NRL GF.

Anyone else notice the little change on the front page of th telegraph since we won the qualifying final???

That little red logo that we all love with the following caption;

"Official newspaper of the 2005 premiers"

I say, Where has this been all year ???

Doesn't even have an online forum or blog for their supporters.....

I think they still have black and white television over there too.

Well it always says "Official Paper of the Sydney Swans" in the actual paper. Not sure about the website. But they aren't bandwagoners, they've been behind the Swans for years. It's just a shame that apart from that the paper is so baaad.
