    Spriggs

the best paid player in the ACTAFL may have made the difference yesterday...

Should he stay or should he go? Is there space for him on the list and is there any value in keeping him? I'd have liked to have seen him play some senior footy this year. Given that he did not, will he simply be delisted, will they try to trade him or will he stay on in a tilt at a 3-peat?

You're probably the best person to answer that ROK as you've seen him more than anyone.

I would like to keep him to add depth to our midfield, but I think the more important question is whether he wants to stay? After possibly playing as well as he can, and still can't break into the side, perhaps he would like to chance his arm at some other club where there may be more opportunities. Good luck to him if he chooses that option.

I would say give him 3 or 4 senior games at the start of next year.If he can prove his worth at the top level, then let's keep him.

If his disposal has improved, which surely a B&F win in the reserves suggests it has, then he would have been enormously useful yesterday to give us run which we sorely lacked. I don't understand why we didn't try him again during the year.

Agree, we really need some leg speed yesterday. Even if he never got a touch, a few more tackles could have made a BIG difference. A good replacement for Crouch (Speed wise)

I said it at the game, and I'll say it again: I believe Spriggs or Crouch would have made a significant difference. Granted, kicking straight and actually using the ball would have too, but Spriggs is the perfect player to have against the Eagles, and I was sorely disappointed he didn't get a game.

Has the endurance to keep up with almost anyone, but I suspect naming as an emergency was a fairwell, goodwill thanks. But sounds like he has a fair footy brain on his shoulders so wouldn't surprise to see him retained on the coaching panel.

surely we have the luxury of keeping him on the list. Think he is worth another year on the payroll, and agree a couple of games in early 07 could be worth a try

I think we should keep him. His speed would be very useful (thats if he uses it).
                    Good midfielder too.

I think the club made its mind up fairly early on in the season that he wasn't in their plans. Otherwise he would have got a senior game this year, for his form certainly warranted it.

He has to be delisted, just to be fair to him. He could be a very good VFL or SANFL player if no other AFL club wants him, and that would surely be more of a challenge for him than running around in the ACTAFL.

I hope we keep him at least for another year and actually give him a few weeks in the Seniors. Worst case is a reserves threepeat. You would think that his reserves performances and being named emergency in the Grand Final would be enough to try and keep him on but he may well walk to a team where he will be a certain starter. A tough choice if the Swans make him an offer.

It will be a tough call. I have to agree with Liz that Spriggs would have played this year if he had a future at the club.

Personally, I'd like to see him get another year however.
