    Lrt

Sorry to say but yesterday proved what I and many other Swans fans have been saying since his first game back in 2003. He is simply not up to this standard. Lewis seems to have no idea on how to read the play, how to position himself best in a one-on-one contest, lacks total confidence when he gets the ball and often seems to get in to road on the field. The mark he dropped in the 2nd quarter was inexcusable for a player at this level of footy and while he did kick a goal the only reason he did was because the player tackling him slung him in the direction of goal, despite having plenty of time to have had an uncontested shot. I remember watching Luffy kick 11 on him at Drummoyne oval in 2002 and i walked away thinking "how bad was that blonde bloke on Luffy" Unfortunately he has now played 72 games of AFL footy and his future at this level must seriously be re-evaluated by the coaching staff.

Take a look at last years grand final, and most of 2006 before sproating your rubish.

Troy Bartlett from the Wollongong Lions in the Sydney AFL would have handled the big stage better than what LRT dished out for the last few weeks - the kid can play & should be picked in this year's draft after being ignored for silly reasons in the past. Cost the swans a premiership by playing LRT I reckon. 2005 GF he plucked it out of his behind - hasn't played a game close to that this year.

Roos said on radio today that LRT has had an injured foot for a few weeks. Again a good reason to develop seasoned reserves who can step up. You would reckon Vogels would have done a better job. Surely we must start to develop players at the top level from 2007 otherwise we plunge to depths of the ladder.

While we still have a strong group who can take us to the finals next year we must start to put the next generation on stage.

Dream on. LRT had one bad game in a grand final. So what! He's been the best bet at CHB for the last ten years. Luke Vogels might make a player one day but he couldn't possibly have stepped up to a grand final. Give the boy he played on some credit.

Not my point. I am saying if he was carrying an injury consider not playing him. I have no beef with his work during the season. Crook foot or not, he should not have dropped that mark.

My point relates to the expert who said that Luke Bartlett could have done a better job, whoever he is!

You seem to be very confused...

We dont have an alternative in the 2nd's. Vogels was the only alternative, and his last senior game he ran out of breath half way through.
And WC only got 12 goals. Its not like their forward line dominated. Its more a problem of our forward line misfiring than defense.

Yep - our inability to kick at least 13 goals!!

Barry, this proves the number of people on this site that have no idea about football. Yeah he played ok in last years grand final. If anyone can name another game in which he has been in the Swans best 5 players let me know. He has been in there once in 72 games. If you were Riewoldt, Pavilch, Brown, Richardson, Lucas etc you would be licking your lips at the prospect of lining up on him. If he was carrying an injury bad luck. As the saying goes, once you are on the ground you are considered to be 100% fit. Look at where playing injured players got St Kilda this year. The guy might have improved, however there are numerous players in other leagues around the country who are better FOOTBALLERS and would be better equipped to handle the premier CHFs. If these guys were training and putting in the work and receiving the coaching he is getting paid for I reckon they would do a better job. It seems he is just a romance story of being a local rugby boy playing in the AFL. I know who I would have picked if i had the choice between him and Playfair as was the case in the 01 draft. People can think what they want but the fact is that he was cut up by Ashley Hansen who is no superstar, after being absolutely destroyed by Pavlich, so where does he go from here?

how many swans players have made the top 5 this year? i'm pretty sure davis hasn't had a standout game (he wasn't even named in our best yesterday) but you wouldn't ever say that he is not good enough ... LRT has done his role in the team every week but had a shocker yesterday and has been in a bit of a slump in the latter part of the year (hall, barry, o'loughlin and quite a few others have had slumps as well this yr) .. leave the boy alone - i'm sure he feels pretty low right about now anyway.

If he wasnt on $100,000 plus a year to play footy i would leave him alone.

I seem to recall he did very well on Brown when big Jonathan was firing, and blanketed Matty Richardson at the SCG. Short memories indeed.

Maybe buchanon would have done a better job on hansen??? It was simply the wrong match up.

B.L.T. has been solid all year....how many games has b2 been in the best 5 (in the paper) and yet I have him in 2nd for the best and fairest.......
