I was naturally gutted - as i'm sure everyone else was too - when Kirk went up to speak for us all. But I loved his words re. Red and White People, those who had been with us for years, and those who had just joined. It made me proud to be a Red and White Person, and even though I'm still spewing about it all, I remembered all the fun, excitement, and pleasure in following the Swans/Bloods whatever you call them. As a fan, I feel my team has really delivered over the last decade or plus, and its been a great ride. In my case, I've been a Swans fans after moving from SA to NSW in the earlly ninetees, and know that everyone has their own story re. how they came to be a fan. I would hope that we are all Red and White People, and will continue to support this fabulous team as they boot up for 07. They've delivered great entertainment to us all, not to mention fostering a brilliant feeling of teamwork/togetherness/community which is at the heart of all great footy clubs. It would be unworthy/cheap/churlish for people to abandon them now, when they've almost taken us successfully to the pinnacle two years in a row. We need to unite, cherish what we've built and get out there and barrack for them just as hard next year! Hope you are all with with me on that!

absolutely right, this is what i meant when i put this thread up. Yes, it would have been great to win Saturday - and i'm still mourning the fact that we didn't do it - but hey we've had a lot to get excited about along the way. And just because we didn't win yesterday doesn't mean we should jump off the ride now.lachlancComment

Thanks lachlanc! You've really ignited me. For 3 days straight, i'm depressed. Reminding me about the Red and White people supporters, it really does make me proud. A motivational post!thanks...

Count me in too.
I am still tossing up whether I can deal with the pain of watching the reply or whether to not watch it ever again.... that final quater was something special. And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!
