    Of course!

that final quarter was something special
It was. I'll download the game (very slowly!) and re-watch it when I get a chance. Just not now.

We had no right to win that game the way we had been playing, but the team just refused to lie down. While still gutted, I'm proud of the gutsy fightback, I don't think many other teams could have done that against West Coast. Adelaide couldn't even do it when urged on by a parochial home crowd in the last quarter of the PF.

The two finals between us and West Coast this year I think were even better to watch than last year's, and we could have quite easily won both. IMO, the way we played in the QF, we were better than the 2005 premiership side, and I see no reason why we can't improve again in 2007.

also very impressed with the way the swans fans stayed to cheer the boys off the ground after the loss reminded me of english fans at f.a cup recognition of just how hard it is to reach the g.f theses days let alone two years in a row

Great thread lachlanc. It sure beats the two that are intent on bagging BH & LRT
Nobody can put down to one or two single mistakes or individuals the result on Saturday, what matters is that not one of the players stopped trying.

I am proud of our boys and the way they conducted themselves before, during and after the match. I like to stick with the thought that we didn't lose, we just didn't win on Saturday. That being said we did exceptionally well to be there for two years running and be a part of the two greatest Grand Final maches ever.

I have been a Sth Melb/Swans supporter my whole life and stuck with it through the worst. This is by no means the worst. IMHO we can still hold our heads high as Swans supporters and be proud of our boys. They are still the best in the AFL as far as I'm concerned

Red and White People, those who had been with us for years, and those who had just joined. It made me proud to be a Red and White Person, and even though I'm still spewing about it all, I remembered all the fun, excitement, and pleasure in following the Swans/Bloods whatever you call them. As a fan, I feel my team has really delivered over the last decade or plus, and its been a great ride. In my case, I've been a Swans fans after moving from SA to NSW in the earlly ninetees, and know that everyone has their own story re. how they came to be a fan. I would hope that we are all Red and White People, and will continue to support this fabulous team as they boot up for 07. They've delivered great entertainment to us all, not to mention fostering a brilliant feeling of teamwork/togetherness/community which is at the heart of all great footy clubs. It would be unworthy/cheap/churlish for people to abandon them now, when they've almost taken us successfully to the pinnacle two years in a row. We need to unite, cherish what we've built and get out there and barrack for them just as hard next year! Hope you are all with with me on that!
Awesome post mate. We are all very emotionally raw right now.

But it is at times like this where we have to tough it out and show our love and commitment to this club.

I'm gutted beyond words. BUT I am so bloody proud of them, both for the second half comeback AND the way they gratiously took the loss on the chin at South Melbourne the day after the match with a smile & a laugh (generally in the direction of one B Kirk)

very gratified by the response to this thread. its so easy for people to bag Barry, LRT, Jolly, Roos, the first half effort or whatever, but do you think those guys weren't trying their guts out? I would have loved a win, wouldn't we all. We'd all be in ecstasy (on ecstacy?) right now if we'd won. Its time to move on, stop blaming, get some new players and - after we thump the Poms at cricket - enjoy 07. I don't like the Egurls but they won the game, and played some top football. I have a feeling, though, that it won't be another 70 odd years before we are all revelling in it again.
