    The "What if" thread

    What if...

    Worsfold had played Matera?

Staker hadn't played on after marking the kickout?

Gardiner had kicked straight from easy set shots in the first quarter?

Judd had held the mark in the goalsquare in the second quarter?

Staker hadn't fumbled 15 metres out from goal?

Embley had given off the handball when in the middle of the ground?

The ball had bounced differently off Nicoski's leg?

Seaby read the flight of the ball better than Leo?

Staker didn't give away the 50 against Goodes?

    Banfield hadn't hit the post?

    ... ... ...

Just as the Eagles asked themselves these questions about last year's grand final, the Swans will be asking themselves "If only..." about this year's. So, don't feel bad about those mistakes, fumbles and missed opportunities on Saturday. We benefited from the same things last year. That's footy. The siren goes, you reflect, learn and move on.

What If we had tackled bloody Embley before he conceeded that behind....
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!
