The day after the day after....

    How we all feeling?

I still feel 'sad' but finally starting to move it on a bit. Still turn the station pretty quickly when any GF report comes on though!!.

fortunatly im not back at work until wednesday

cos i could sure belt someone right now.
I find other club supporters try to rub it in more than eagles fans. Especially a few stkilda supporters at work,
Theres not much left to say

It's almost unbearable over here. Thankfully I live south of the river and it's only a short trip to Freo...

I spoke to another Perth based Swans fan yesterday and we're both avoiding the television news and newspapers. It's not too bad that way! I have barely felt any salt in the wounds and the usual Eagles fans that wind me up after a loss have surprisingly left me alone. They don't want to be embarrassed by making me cry.

I have been surprised at how well I have been holding it together...until yesterday afternoon.

Went for a run to clear my head and was stupidly listening to the radio. ABC Melbourne was replaying the call of the game interspersed with callers and comments. When it got to the first minutes of the last quarter and Goodsey kicked that goal, everything came flooding back to me. It was at that moment that I believed we would win. Hearing it again just destroyed me and I sat on the ground in a deserted park and cried.

Got home and watched the last quarter of the 05 Grand final which helped restore my equilibrium. Today was going okay except that everyone I have ever spoken to about football has felt the need to contact me and talk about it. I hope this gets easier to deal with.
                  oh well, maybe next time......

wasn't felling so bad immediately after the game but then after a restless night it was just like a blanket of depression. but going to the scg to see the boys was great and lifted my spirits. watched geelong semi-final and stkilda prelim final and predict i will watch more in the next few days to remind me of happier times ...

Have had to cope with the Monday morning run the gauntlet in the corridors. "Go Eagles" "1 Point" stirring stuff.

Have consoled the core group of supporters. We'll soldier on.

One reason why I am very glad it's a long Weekend in NSW.

Don't think I could have handled any ribbing at all today from the League types. I'll be ready for them tomorrow!

I have copped the same from a st kilda supporter at my work...(who I consider to be a fairly good friend). He said he had planned on putting black streamers around my desk so that it could go with the red and white colours and become st kilda. I politely mentioned the fact that at least we can make Grand Finals and win one. (He didn't like that).

He then proceeded to say that he had no sympathy for the swans because we won last year and that he didn't feel sorry for me.

That makes me mad . So insensitive they are.

Ok now to my emotions over the last couple of days...

After the game I was surprised at how well I was taking the loss. I think it was because I was sooooo proud of the boys

But had a BAD Saturday night tossing and turning and thinking about the what ifs. So Sunday I was fairly depressed but managed to at least look at the papers and the Sunday Footy Show. However, by the night I couldn't watch the news and see the Eagles celebrate.

I thought I was doing ok today until everyone kept coming up to me at work, so I had to keep reliving the experience!!!
