Their attitude is one of extreme arrogance... not sure why given their position on the ladder in recent years.

I wish Roos wouldn't pussy-foot around in dealing with them. It's a joke that they are demanding Malceski. They are trying to screw over Carlton and Sydney in their proposed trades so I don't know why we need to preserve a relationship with such a club.
Today was classic Roos, he has called Hawthorn's bluff and his comments regarding the PSD is no more than Sydney trying to knock Hawthorn down to our preferred 3rd rounder for Spida.

Hawthorn to their credit are trying to run a smoke screen on us by proclaiming that Everrit is in demand somewhere else.

But they know it and we know it, that Sydney is the only real option for him at this stage.

Look for 1.50pm Friday deal which will see out third round pick for Spida.

actually, come to think of it, why not just keep Round 3 pick and get Spida for "free" in PSD?

St kilda is the only obvious competition but I wouldn't lose much sleep even if we dont eventually get Everitt.

Still prefer Gardiner>Spider (only because of their age difference. Talent-wise I think they are on-par)

If we trade our second rounder it HAS to be for a seasoned full-back, ruckman or genuinly good outside midfielder.
And by the end of the year he had cemented the position as their key position defender.

While he ain't the tall hulk we need down back, Notting gives us flexibility to free up Leo Barry as he is now struggling on the bigger body forwards.

Besides a second rounder is not going to give you a seasoned full back or good outside midfielder. It may get you a ruckman, but even that would only be a 32 year old one.

Roos confirmed the club's first round selection would not be traded for Everitt.

"It won't be going to Hawthorn for 'Spida', no," Roos said.

As for 2006 Grand Final player Nick Malceski, Roos said the young Swan would not be traded to the Hawks.

"Absolutely, he won't be going anywhere," Roos said.

Quite frankly I have no respect for clubs who bottom out as part of a 6-7 year strategy to win a flag so I hope Hawthorn are left empty handed this year. I am cheering for a pre season draft snare of Spida by the Swans and for Thornton to be redrafted by the Blues, also in the PSD.

That smokey of an offer by another club is such a laugh.

There is no way another club is going to take Spida without actually sitting down him and working out whether he will actually come and play.

Spida has named his team and is not talking to anyone else.

I couldn't help but laugh when i read/heard about this supposed offer from an unnamed club, and Roos has called their bluff beautifully! At the moment we're controlling the direction of this trade quite well, so let's hope we don't slip up and pay more than we have to.

I hear Roo's is pretty smart, although some may not agree as we lost the GF, or didn't win it.

What ever he does I am sure it will be the wrong thing by RWO.
