if leo is co-captain and in the leadership group already then there is no way they are going to strip him of co-captaincy OR being a part of the leadership group unless somethng major happens and i doubt that will happen anyway.Comment

I reckon if they gave Goodsey the captaincy, it's not gunna stop him in any way, shape or form.
If anything, I think he would be a much better player (and as a consequence, get a third brownlow) as he "leads by example".

Couldn't agree more. They can share the load during the week by allowing the leadership group to handle press duties on a rotating basis or something but Kirk should be the only captain.Originally posted by Gary

A captaincy didn't stop Buckley, Hird, Voss, Riccuto or even Paul Kelly for that matter. Just made them better players ... legends even.
The more I really, really think about it, the more the kid should be captain. It's best to get him in now while he's still "relatively" a youngin. He can be captain for at least four or five years, a year or so back in the ranks, then retirement (after receiving at least another three brownlows).
Anyone wanna move into my dream world?? It's noice!!
