    Jonas home to Adelaide

Jonas is heading back to Adelaide so just as well we have one replacement coach organised.
    Love those Swans

Risking my head here on this forum... but i never really rated Roos as a tactical genius. He himself has admitted he relies heavily on his assistants. So i find it a bit worrying our coachs are being pinched... especially Longmire. Can we replace them? Can Roos fill the void, or will he merely add one?

While the broad thrust of our gameplan is Roos' (or at least he adopted it circa 2004 and as a result of living with it for 3 years, he's as familiar with it as anyone else on the planet), any good coach relies heavily on his assistants if he has them. Wasting a lot of your club's money if you don't. Picking the right ones is probably almost as important as picking your senior coach.

John Blakey seems like a good pick-up. I wouldn't discount anyone in particular for the 3rd slot in the event that Longmire/Lyons go, but a hard-headed 'best available' approach is needed. There can be power-imbalance issues with former players coaching previous team-mates.

I wonder if Shwatta would be interested in a coaching career now that his media career must be in some limbo?

Good one hammo. I forgot about Shwatta.
Mmmmmm... be noice if he came home to play, eh??
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

damn damn damn. Jonas was IMO the best of our assistants. He has done wonderful things for us and i can only wish him all the best in the future.

Moved back to Perth to look after his business interests. Not coaching next season at the AFL level at least.

I reckon we should get 3 coaches and rotate them.
