Now where can i get on Brisbane for the wooden spoon?"As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

I'm still backing Essendon/Carlton tie for the spoon next year.
I don't think the Blions are that woeful.
Anyway....all the best to Vossy in his retirement although I am sure we shall see plenty of him in the AFL world in future.
Loved his footy and always liked his speeches at the Grand Finals in 2001-2004.Comment

I loved it when he staged for the free in the goal square and the CS gave it to him, he had a look of "wow, the opinion of these fat ferals really is going to make me change the way I play". That was great.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

Well, next year they lose Voss, Michael, Keating and Akermanis, but they regain Brown, Lappin, Hadley, Johnson, McGrath, Corrie, C Scott, Charman, and McDonald, plus their youngsters have a year more experience, so they may not be so bad.Originally posted by woo
next season is already a write off for the lions
Their backline will be a problem, but they have a decent chance, injuries permitting, of finishing somewhere around 8th-12th.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I imagine they'd have the shortest odds for the spoon.Originally posted by hammo

Carlton and Kangaroos have the shortest odds so far (not surprising) but Brisbane are a close third to "win" the spoon.Originally posted by Destructive
