Agree, Liz. And while he missed two sitters in the GF this year, only the week before Jude kicked two great goals for us in the Prelim when the game against Freo was in the balance - including a clutch set shot.

One out of two, when they are grand finals is pretty ordinary to start with, but when it's 7 bad quarters out of 8 it's really quite crap.

Criticisms about players in other sides not performing in pressure games fly pretty thick and fast here, but J Bolton has failed in two of the highest pressure games there are. Two grand finals, 28 possessions, 0 goals, 4 behinds.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

The Possession count depends a lot on what job you're given. We always have lower figures in the midfield across the board whenever we meet WC.

Jude had 8 poss in the Qualifier then had 26 poss in the Prelim. Different jobs = different stats.

Bolton gets crap numbers against WC because they tag him closely and he doesn't do well against tags. Stenglein is often against him.

14 possies a couple of marks and 6 tackles is hardly a poor grand final from jude. He draws attention away from the younger midfielders for a start and is in at every contest.

and last year the same stats, both years he could of kicked straighter and looked even better.

He wasnt outstanding in either grand final but he was about a 6 or 7 out of 10 overall for each, he peformed his role well.

What a load of old cobblers.
Draws attention away from the younger midfielders, sure. Kirk, Willo (retired) Mathews, Ablett (tagger) McVeigh (tagger, maybe) Buchanan (perhaps) O'Keefe (as if). Your statement assumes the other 15 coaching panels are all stupid.

NMW's stats and summary of his efforts were spot on. By the way he has little or no defensive side to his game. If anyone can tell me when he has had a tagging role and the stats of the tagee then I am prepared to stand corrected.

He is supposed to be and has always been a possession getting midfielder.

It's garbage for one of our main ball winners!

                  Not sure.

Players like Schneider, Malceski, Dempster McVeigh, Buchanan etc will all be senior players by then and hopefully they will be able to take the next step up in their careers and become what Barry, Kirk and Hall are doing now, which is lead the club. We'll also have Schmidt and Moore who show promise as well. Of course there is always the chance they may not turn out to be stars of the Kirks mould etc... but i don't think it will be a case of bottoming out for draft picks. But on that note, we wouldn't want to become a club like the Kanagroos, stuck in the middle of nowhere.

He was our most tagged midfielder this year. Makes it harder, but i didnt claim he had awesome grand finals, they were far from his best, just in both he was ok not terrible like some people seem to think.

14 possies 6 tackles thats working pretty hard, he was far from disgraced. Like i said he could of kicked 2 goals in each and looked a lot better.

Anyway im just saying he wasnt rubbish, i agree he was average and not as good as say kirk in either grand final but he busted his gut out there like he does week in week out and im sure the other afl coaches respect the guy.
