Some other dud things were Noiseworks & INXS. I think our John was spelt with an H.

If I recall correctly, Stevens was not a bad player at all. In fact did he not represent NSW in early 90's...when Ironmonger was our ruckman. If I do recall correctly he played bloody well when NSW played Vic at the SCG.

With Bennet you always thought you were getting all he had...& then some...not much talent but 100% goer who din't always look out of place.
Rowan was always a train wreck waiting to happen...& I think he knew it.
Mott played some terrific games that year but has since disintegrated...no discipline.

            What about Robbie Ahmat?

Mind you, he did kick one of the best goals I've ever seen... @@@@ he was fast:

No way! He was good for what he was, a small crumbing forward. If he didn't have the personal issues (i think he had a psycho stalker girlfriend) IMO he would still be playing for us.

Plus anyone who can kick a goal running all the way from the D50 all the way to the other end automatically excludes them from dud status.

He wasn't dud. But he was as inconsistent as any of those on the list above.

Warfe wasn't a hack until his final year.

That was Greg Stafford who had the psycho stalker mail order bride.

                      Stafford deserved it though.

I went with Ricky Mott.... Great talent that we poured heaps of time and money into that amounted to Blot....

Though I am a bit perplexed as to why one Ryan Fitzgerald didn't get a mention?

Ryan wasn't bad, when he was fit enough to play. I think everyone blocked him from their minds after he did Big Brother..

Apart from his final season, Warfe was actually quite useful. IMO

Love this thread. Personally voted for Bennett - also part of his look. Isn't he playing SANFL now, and doing ok.

I was actually going to post another thread, posing the question which of the players who we have let go in the last few years have proven us wrong? Apart from so-called stars like Shannon Grant and Rocca (???), can't think of many. Scott Stevens had a good year this year, but i don't reckon he would have beenin our GF 22, and then there's Troy Cook. But think of the others....Fixter, Saddington, even Mott at Carlton.

Think guys do better when they come to us, under the present regime, than they do when they leave.
