Or at least that's what some 50,000 viewers on Fox Footy thought last Saturday when what they thought was the 2006 GF being shown live turned out to be a replay of 2005.

Precisely!! Jason Ball? Willo? Crouch? Didn't they wonder how they all came to be playing again? Especially Ball, if you didn't feel the euphoria of his retirement last year then you can't really call yourself a Swans fan....

That applies to Swans fans. But for the rest who turned on to watch the "event"....how did they miss the big logo in the middle of the ground that said Grand Final 2005?

Didn't they recognise any of the passages of play? How can someone watch the whole game which ends in a spectacular mark and not recognise the mark?

The most ridiculous thing ever. Perhaps forgive a Sydneysider with no interest in AFL turning it on and having no real idea.

Anyone however that calls themselves a Swans or a footy fan should be shot!

Also, during it there would have been countless references to the year 2005. Mentions of the Barry Hall incident the week before and that we had lost to the Eagles in the QF.. stuff like that.

My mate went to my gf's old man's house and accidently watched the 2005 GF. My gf's old man sent an SMS after the siren saying "Swannies won!" and i wrote back saying "@@@@ off" thinking he was trying to rub in the fact that they lost. He was thinkgin "why the hell did he tell me to @@@@ off?". Didnt realise until i got home that he actually had the wrong game on.
