Does Jude justify his spot in the team?

His 2nd half to the season and the finals wasnt really that flash - sure he probably does all the one percenters (that the coaches love) but it would be nice for him to get a few touches and be a bit more creative like most other midfielders in the comp. isn't this the time of his where he's meant to be peaking?????

i really admire the bloke but lately it has really frustrated me

    thoughts????

    Now you're just stirring.....

Deserve his place in the team??? Stupid question that doesn't deserve a response.

Frustrating yes but still in the best 22.

I am not sure if he can take his game to the next level but that's what we need him to do as he goes missing a bit too easily.

        yeah probably a misleading title

it was meant to be more of a discussion of where his career is at - i just expect alot more from him and he's at the age where he should be influencing more games and making more of an impact

He is never going to be what we might have hoped...if anything his disposal skills seemed to have deteriorated from early on. It says it all to say he is an inferior version of Kirk rather than Kelly. Still a player but moderate category rather than the VG to great I had hoped for earlier on. I'd trade him & Fozzy for Kerr or Judd tomorrow, or even today!

I can't imagine it's going to get better.

The last two seasons he has started off very well - a strong case for being the most consistently good player in the first half of each year. Then he has dropped away significantly.

In both years I suspect injuries had an impact. We know that was the case last year and I'd be surprised if it wasn't part of the cause this year.

We fans demand a lot from the players, and are usually happy to ignore the fact that form drops are often caused by injuries. Some players are probably better at playing injured than others - and of course different injuries will have different effects.

I guess throughout the year, every club has to make an ongoing assessment as to whether continuing to play someone who is carrying a niggle is worth it - ie is that player better than his possible replacement even when not fully fit? Would resting him help, and allow him to come back later in the year fully fit?

I'm sure it is an ongoing dilemma, even (or maybe especially) at the "club that never suffers injuries".

at first I thought "what tha" about this thread, but you do pose a good question.

he did drop off in the season ....but do you think if he put all his energies he puts into socialing in sydneys hot spots/openings of car doors etc into his footy he would be a better player...I think so
