    Coach for a day!

There is the view that our match-day tactics are not up to scratch.

If you were coach for the day on 30th September 2006, what would you have done differently?

    This thread could get ugly.

Firstly, I would have started Craig Bolton on Hansen and when it was obvious Jolly was half asleep put Doyle on straight away.

Hm, one thing.. i would have thrown LRT in the ruck for a while. He was having a shocker everywhere else and Jolly wasn't doing much better, i would have mixed it up a little.

I would have put Goodes in the Ruck when it was apparent that Jolly was a dead man walking.... And Goodes wasn't getting near the ball....

Doyle up forward instead of LRT....

Then after Goodes had demoralised Cox by running off him and kicking three goals... LRT into the ruck and then Goodes onto the ball....

Ah ... Coach for a Day ... one of my more pleasant regular dreams!!

I would have rolled up my footy record at 1/4 time (instead of 1/2 time) and thumped them all over the back of the head with it. That way, we would have won by 3/4 time and the final qtr would have just been a "lets-rub-it-in-your-face-and-run-rings-around-you" qtr.

Hammo ... re the ugly bit ... the seatbelt sign is on ladies and gentlemen, please put on your seatbelts.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I probably would have stabbed my index finger into a few chests and sprayed spit all over the players at half time with a vein bulging in my forehead.

This is the one I was thinking of. LRT into the ruck, put one of the ruckmen up foward,

Another option was Goodes into the ruck. Make Cox more accountable.

Put someone (Davis) onto Wirrpanda in the first few minutes when it was seen that he was playing loose man.

Do what Woosha did - start players in different positions then move them around after a few minutes. LRT to CHF, Bazza playing on a wing, Fosdike starting on the ground, Tadhg in the midfield and MOnty tagging Judd.

In the last quarter, stack the forward line with as many talls as we could spare. Watch the Weagles struggle for matchups. The pressure would really have been on when we were only five points down.
