    2007 Draw Updates...post here

    From the Herald Sun today...

THE Swans will play 13 games in the NSW/ACT -- 11 home fixtures in Sydney and two away games in Canberra against Melbourne and the Dogs.
Predictable really, however, unfortunately we won't be opening the season against WC so it looks like Saturday night instead...

A FRIDAY night game between Melbourne and St Kilda at the MCG has been listed to kick off the season.

I am glad we wont be playing WC straight up, that was a ridiculous idea when both teams wont be ready for a good game.

I believe we will still be playing WC in Round 1, it's just that our game won't be the opening game of Round 1 (hence not the opening game of the season).

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Wouldn't worry, Cousins and co will still be hung over and thus worse off than us!

            Booze Bus!

I'm slightly worried though. However, i think once they see the WCE's faces, they would be fired up.

Just reiterating our standpoint, we don't want more than two games outside Melbourne this year, and definitely none in Perth, Brisbane or Adelaide. One in Sydney and one in Geelong is fine with us.
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

It's the fairest match up first round really - both have the exact same rest period.

The Swans players aren't going to sober up until the New Year either?

I though that was just those going to Ireland and calling in at Tiger's pub.

Thank you for your kind request. However, I would like to point out that Channel 9 no longer have the rights for the AFL, so I would be grateful if you would kinkly pi** of and go back to 'Eddie-world' where you quite clearly believe everything revolves around you, and by extension, Collingwood Football Club.

Re. West Coast round 1 -

I'd rather play a good team in round 1, simply because if we start the season slowly I'd rather not waste our bad form on a side that ends up 15th. Lets play @@@@ against all the good teams who we'd have a good chance of losing to even if we were playing well.

It makes me laugh when people say "we've got a tough draw" or "we play a hard one first up" etc, etc. Truth of the matter is that teams change significantly over the break with drafting, delistings etc, that a crap team from this season doesn't neccessarily mean they'll be crap next season and vice versa. We play whoever we bloody play and we just need to be prepared and ready to play. Not like this season when we lost to a team that only won 3.5 games for the entire season. It's a bit of pass the dutchie going on around here.....

Completely agree. I was reading some wankers on big footy talking about the Swans always having an easy draw. It's really easy to say this (I don't agree) at the end of the season when the teams are ranked from 1 to 16....how about at the start when the draw is done?
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.
