    Pick 15.

Thankfully we kept this piece of gold for the Super Draft.

    Who are our likely prospects?

Will midfielder Clayton Collard last till pick 15?
Or will we take a KPP in Nathan Brown?

Anyone with some idea about the up coming young guns?

A KPP, for the love of god. I'll be tempted to go out and shoot myself if we draft another midfielder.

I'll leave it to those who've seen the U/18s play to guess on the best KPP who's likely to be available at pick 15.

A guy seriously worth considering with our pick 65 (or in the rookie draft) for a KPP forward prospect is South Aussie Adam Cockshell. Just turned 20 years old (not in consideration earlier b/c came late to seriously playing footy), athletics background, played a dozen or so senior games of SANFL (for Norwood, who last gave us Reg Grundy) this year. Strong, well-built guy; maybe somewhere around 190-195cm; fast on the lead; really strong mark. Kicked 20-odd goals, and could have kicked a lot more but was prone to spraying 'em everywhere. Doesn't look like a kicking technique issue, though-- more of a practice/concentration issue.

Whilst I don't want to see you shoot yourself, I sooooooo dare you.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Jack Reiwoldt would be in our range I think.

          195cm forward.

Then his cousin may like to join Jack at the Swans in 2008.

I think we'll go for a kpp probably a forward as we've got plenty of midfielders now

Unless there is a run on KP defenders early in the draft, we will be drafting one of those unless the quality is gone by then for talls.

Phantom drafts seem to have a couple of well talked about KP talls still around at 15.

Jack Reiwoldt will be gone by pick 15, but if he slips to our pick would be very handy, has plenty of upside

We do need our token Tasmanian, so Reiwoldt would be great!

I know a few the swans have spoken to and they are all KP forwards. I am guessing that is exactly what we will be getting with pick 15.

Colin Garland from Tassie and Jesse White from QLD are two big possibilities also with our later picks, they wont be considered to 2nd and 3rd rounds though.

We may ahve a heap. but we lack an outstanding break awayt attacking midfielder.
Our midfielders work hard, but they ahve to work hard to contain the other attacking midfielders.

Names that may come into the mix (ie are expected to maybe still be around at 15) would include

                        Broc O'Brien
                        Tom Hislop
                        Daniel(?) Connors
                        Ben Reid
                        Eric MacKenzie (maybe)
Ricky Pettard (possibly a little early in the draft for him?)
                        Nathan Brown

I would almost put my house on it that Riewoldt will be gone by pick15,just on his 'name' and 'potential' .

I think there is another Selwood in this draft too, spose he will be gone by then too.

I just hope they get immediate game time. Well rotated off the bench anyway. Throw them in the deep end, don't let the player we draft with the pick sit in reserves for 2-3 seasons.

Yep, more than likely to be gone by 15. That and even if he was available he is a midfielder so I doubt he would be a player of interest at this stage but then again if a standout midfielder got to pick 15 I wouldn't bet against us snapping one up. But we aren't going to go into the draft with a midfielder targeted like we have in the past few years.

Key Position Defender or Forward HAS to be the focus this year with most of our picks going forward otherwise we'll find ourselves with no one to replace the likes of Hall, Leo and Magic when they retire in the next few years or heaven forbid go down long term with an injury.

We've kept our 1st Round Pick for once, lets use it to build some depth for the future. No reason why we can't protect the future while still having a run at the flag in 2007 and 2008.
                              Once was, now elsewhere
