    Bulldogs 2007

Word on the street is that the Bulldogs will be the No. 1 Victorian team for 2007. By my reckoning this means they will finish the home and away season in 7th place.

I don't think there have been any major additions to their list, other than Akermanis, but all the top picks they got a few years ago (Cooney, Ray etc) should be starting to stand up....

Will the addition of Akermanis and the return of Darcy (I assume he will be back for round 1) (and Robert Murphy?) make the dogs a real premiership contender in 2007 - or, more likely, is this just more hot air from Victorian journalisits?

Top victorian team? wtf is that lol, that's like finishing 1st in the special olympics, you're still slow but the best in your division. I see Darcy as a bigger inclusion than Aker, and if Griffen (sp?) Cooney, Minson, Giansiracusa etc can all step up again then maybe the mongrels will be right up there in 07', but this 'Number 1 Victorian' thing is laughable, but they gotta have a #1 in something, so it may aswell be amongst themselves

Imo the bulldogs have the chance to really challenge - for all the ins already mentioned, plus they are now coming together as a coherent playing unit, having had a fair bit of time to get to work together for the most part.

Although it's a long way out to be making predicitons, if they keep developing the way they did last year I can see them challenging for top 4 quite easily. As much as I'd love to see all the non-Vic teams in the 8, I don't think Brisbane will do it, and I get the feeling one other team won't either - I don'tknow why but I just have a feeling! (I so hope it's not us!)

If the footy gods smile for them, they will be sniffing around the top 4 next year.

Bulldogs and Demons should be right up there. Although everytime the Demons get tipped for greatness, they crack.

I'm looking forward to going to a few Bulldogs games this year. I think they have a definite chance of top 4.

Aker in the midfield, McDougall performing in the forward line, the return of many players from the injury list. Bulldogs should make the top four with little problem...

He hasn't announced his retirement yet and he's in the current list of players. I reckon he'll play for the Dogs in 2007.

Grant has already stated that he will play on for 2007.

If all the injured players get back there forward line will be easily the best in the league and nearly impossible to match up.

                        Robbins, Darcy, Johnson
                        Acker, Murphy, Cooney

Yep - I'd expect top 4 is possible for them if they are injury free. Still some questions in defence tho'.

They are a great side, full of run and have an excellent game day coach. I like watching them.

In some ways the injuries they suffered this year are a blessing in disguise as they have been able to give game time to most of their youngsters, including some finals experience.

They'll be in the top 8 fore sure but it's still a big leap to the top 4. Weagles, Crows, Swans and Dockers will all be up there as well.
