    Well, blow me down. The Bombers have delisted 3 mid-career players as well. One thing that's very instructive for draft-followers is that the delisted players were draft pick #s 25, 27 and 28 in their time.

    I'd previously thought that Essendon 2006 were a bit like the Woods 2005-- a decent quality list dragged down by a combination of injury and (ahem) lack of interest, once it was apparent they would get nothing but draft picks out of their year.

    But looking at their player roster today, it does seem terribly short on depth-- their top 8 or 10 are very good (which you could say about almost any club) but it all falls away pretty rapidly after that. Might be a long 2007 for them as well... but who knows what tricks Sheeeeeds can pull?

    PS Thurgood would breach the 'No Dreadheads' policy.
