Supercoach Teams (split from Leroy Jetta)

What a little baby cutie!! I say bring in the bro!!!
Do we have any chance of picking him up??
I love watching the indigenous brothers play. Grace, style, speed.
My Supercoach team next year is indigenous, only gotta find a decent ruckman!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

A bit beside the subject at hand, ... I'm talking Supercoach ... is it wise putting a player who doesn't normally play the ruck in (just to fill it) and possibly miss out on points for that position (e.g. make Sandilands or Cox an honorary (sp?) aboriginal for the season for the purposes of getting a good ruck into my team ) OR, are points awarded because that player happened to play great game that week, no matter what position he played (e.g. make Goodsey the ruck and he'll win points anyway, no matter where he plays)???

      Anyone??

(God I hope that makes sense, I've edited it twice now ... no, make that three ... four ... it was five!!)

            RE: Supercoach

Players are allocated ground positions (ie: forwards, centres, backs and rucks) by the Supercoach organisers prior to the season starting.

Some players are listed in two divisions (eg Adam Hunter could have been chosen as a back or a forward or Troy Simmonds as a ruck or a forward). Once you have "drafted" a player to your supercoach team they can only be selected in the ground position initially chosen.

You have to draft 30 players (9 backs, 6 centres, 9 forwards and 6 rucks) for under $10 million dollars based upon their starting value from the previous season.

Each week you have to chose 22 players as your team, consisting of 7 backs, 6 centres, 7 forwards and 4 rucks.

Players are awarded points for a whole range of effective actions on the field (and deducted points for clangers, free kicks against etc) wherever they play. For example Heath Grundy was listed as a back at the start of the year. When he actually played, as a forward, if he was in your supercoach team it would have to have been one of the seven defenders and the points he gained were included in your total team score.

It is possible to have a large number of aboriginal players (who score lots of points) in your team, but you may be struggling for rucks. Paddy Ryder from Essendon is a possibility on at least one (but he is not that good )

Full details of the Herald Sun Supercoach for 2006 can been seen at Supercoach

            Cheers

Thanks Justice. I went round this year for the first time and FAILED miserably ... shouldn't really bag out Roosey, it's a hard job ... even on a fake team. Hence the new tactic for next year.

I've been mouthing off for years about how great our aboriginal players are (all of 'em), how graceful and easy some of them make the game look, how atheletic and fast they are, etc. etc., so I figured I set up a star team. See what happens, eh??

Like I said ... finding a indigenous ruckman is damn near impossible. I don't wanna make "honoraries" if I can at all help it. Might just go with Goodsey anyhow.
