    Moore's Injury

I have been trying to find out the condition of the forgotten Swan,Bulldog. He missed alot of footy last season and all the information given was "injured thumb".It must have been a pretty serious injury to have kept him out so long.Is he fit yet and doing the pre season.Roosy never mentions him (probably cause his name isn't Barry,Greg or Leo!) bit he had shown promise early.

It was a broken thumb. Anyone who has had one will know that they are painful and you can't do much with it - whether it be cricket or footy.

I remember reading that he had complications from the initial thumb surgery too, which turned a 4-6 week injury into a season-ending injury.

A pity, cos it happened just as he broke back into the senior team too.

Childbirth? Oh that was a finger not thumb, wasn't it?

Young einstein Mr Moore was our brains trust at this years trivia night, so we got to find out what had happened. He said that he literally just brushed past an opposition player and ended up with two breaks at the base of his thumb. Healing just a matter of time, but back then he knew that he was RS for the rest of the season. Back better than ever next year.

Given how he has gone so far, that is FANTASTIC news!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

No it was his thumb, not his "ring" finger
