It shows he doesn't play forward often. And when you have the likes of Hall, O'Keefe and O'Loughlin then he doesn't need to kick a swag but be a crumbing forward, which is what he is when playing forward.

Jude has spent most of this year on the defensive side of the midfield, gaining vital clearances when the we are losing the ruck. I get so sick of fans, especially on here, dishing out crap to the players they supposedly support either through genuine misinformation or through their own stupidity. I'm not going to say Jude is the shining star of the midfield, but I would say that I'm glad he's in the red and white and playing seniors.

Just because a player doesn't star every week doesn't mean they are a failure. Not everyone is a Tony Lockett, a Chris Judd or a Steven Silvagni. The key is to take what you have and make it work. Bolton works with the Swans in his current role and, like it or not, that role is a midfielder who is rotated through the forward line with the likes of Schnieder and Buchanan. It works well, the stats show it works, so you say "Wow these Swans can play damn good football! The 22 on the park are talented and skillful, and they have fine men behind the scenes orchestrating the event." Why is there such demand to find fault with a formula that works well?

And don't go jumping down my throat saying that the criticism is fair game. It isn't. Granted that sometimes players will foul up, and sometimes staff will do the same, but that is not reason to badmouth everyman and his dog when they have a stumble. Why not SUPPORT the club rather then TEAR it? We've made two damn grand finals in two years, which is 49 years better then the time taken to get to the two before! And everyone here is content to bitch and moan about a player's one shortcoming when they are of immense value to the club. You need only look as far as the words spoken about Ben Matthews on here. Does it occur to no-one that there is a bunch if incredibly well-informed, smart, football-honed people running this club? And that with these people at the helm Ben Matthews has played over 160 games, and Jude over 150? Do you not think that maybe the people running the club have some idea what they are doing? Or were the last two years a fluke?

Dissent is normal and healthy, but the amounts I see here against players and club members alike is unfathomable. Buy a @@@@ing clue, the lot of you. Now I remember why I stopped coming here and why Jim Main hates this forum. Get a brain and use it.

If you don't like it then don't read it. People are allowed to have their own opinions. They won't all be the same and they won't all be in favour of everything the club does.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Maybe there should be a forum called 'Player Bashing' so the more sensitive souls don't get upset when they click on a thread containing such information....
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

And Ben Matthews has earnt the right to be bashed. No other player in the league is described as working class more often than him. I'm sure he thinks he's a boilermaker - not a footballer. (He plays like one anyway).

Laughinggnome...there are none so blind as those who cannot see...you are making a lot of fuss because you overstated the Bolton contribution in regard to goal kicking, & refuse to acknowledge that his disposal is generally ordinary...this does not mean others do not value him...just that we are not prepared to allow inaccurate assessments to pass without comment.

Except when criticism is levelled at you.

I vote this thread gets moved to the sandpit.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Maybe there should be a Chow- Chicker vs NMWBloods thread and it can be settled there.

There seems to be alot of sexual tension in the air.

I have to agree, he seems to be a sentimental favourite with Roosy but he's just taking a spot which could easily be filled by a much younger player with a bigger future in the game. I respect the way Matthews plays the game, and his commitment could never be questioned, but the fact of the matter is he's not really top 22 material.
