Good article but what else would you expect from the official Swans web site and afl.com.au... I mean they're hardly going to give him a spray are they??? Not the best source for objective articles or reviews/discussions...
All that aside... He did have a great year for us and I for one am glad to see he has cemented his place in the side.
I'll admit that I was a little dubious as his number one fan seemed to be Paul Roos.. Kept thinking here we go.. another favourite son... But I have been pleasantly surprised....
He is a quality player that I hope we can hold on to and with a little luck, yes he will be a captain one day...Comment

You don't want to go starting rumours that players become 'favourite sons' because the coaching staff think they're actually... gulp... good players, rather than because they've got incriminating photos or something.Originally posted by reigning premier

And just to say one more time something that I never tire of saying:
Pick 64, 2002 AFL draft. In your face, Melbourne, Port Adelaide, North Melbourne, Collingwood, Essendon ... oh, look, why go on? Everyone, including ourselves.Comment

Amen! it's like poetry watching him play, but less boring than most poetry lol. Sydney doesn't have a record of picking up star recruits through the draft, like Hawthorn with Hodge, the Eagles with Judd, and the Saints with Ball, but i think Malceski is our very own star in the making, and i can see him as a very capable future captain of the club, or at the very least one of the top 2-3 leaders.Originally posted by punter257
great read and can see the leadership all over him - great pick up by the barnham
"Deadliest left boot in the comp" is my line whenever he gets the ballComment

Re: Eski's Breakthrough Season
When asked what standard he hopes to achieve, he replied, 'the Kirky standard' - in reference to co-captain Brett Kirk's highly professional approach reaching elite fitness.Originally posted by Jeffers1984

Interesting he says this.
I remember when Kirk took his game to another level he praised working with Stewie Maxfield and the respect he had for his fitness regime.Last edited by Bloody Hell; 25 October 2006, 04:01 AM.The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment
