Have you guys planned separate honeymoon destinations if the Swans thrash the Cats or vice versa? The day before you leave! Andy D really has it in for you two.

    Maybe you should think about a Plan B . . .

The loser shall be forced to wear the other's scarf all the way from Geelong to Vancouver, to Juneau, then over to Calgary and all over the Rockies, before having to wear it all the way home to Sydney via Honolulu.

      God I hope we win...

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Not to mention gaining pole position on the staircase grid!

A more important question though is.....who gets to use the newest camera?

Liz might have a point here. I don't mean Carlton but Freo. If they are lucky with injuries next year we might see them going deep into September again.

Sydney never got to raise the flag at home for the first round, why should the e-girls.
Kudos to the AFL for making the e-girls, bitch and moan

Great draw with a good mix of day and night games.

Will be great to travel to Melbourne to see us play the Pies at the MCG!

When was the last time we played Collingwood at the MCG?

I can perhaps beat the honeymoon thing with Des.

March 31 - Round 1: The Rematch, my wedding day! As a sydney-based supporter who adores going to Telstra, this bites, but what can you do?

Much better than a Sept wedding! I will have score updates coming thru to me no doubt! haha

Have a morning wedding and reception at the Novotel Homebush. Have an afternoon quickie, please the wife and then head 100m over to Telstra Stadium for the big game where wife can see big Cox play for a second time in the day. Then head back 100m to the honeymoon suite at the Novotel for a double celebration...being married and a swans win...a big night ahead for you both!

I think I read somewhere that the Wiggles had requested an away game first up, so that they could have a home game in round 22.

Some people will find a reason to whinge whatever they're dished up.

In terms of difficulty of opponent, the 7 teams we play twice are likely (at this early stage) to cluster around the middle. We're getting a deal significantly worse than this year (although the form of our 7 double-playing opponents this year was the sort of good fortune you can only expect about once a decade).

4 teams in the 8 from 2006: Weagles, St Kilda, Collingwood, Melbourne.

Weagles are expected to be top 2 again, but it's only right & natural that we should play them twice. The others are all more likely than not to be top 8 (and St Kilda at least 50/50 to make top 4), but none of them expected to dominate the comp. Freo, Dogs and maybe Adelaide are thought of as more likely than this crop to be genuine flag chances.

3 teams in the bottom 8 from 2006: Richmond, Blions, Hawthorn.

Even though Richmond and Hawthorn are both mentally fragile, they are teams with plenty of young talent on the way up, both of whom are expecting to go top 8 in 2007. Blions may be bottoming out still, but if they have a reasonable run with injuries they still actually have a very good list, believe it or not. What's more significant is who's missing: the major faves to be chopping-blocks in Carlton, the Roos and maybe Essendon. And the most likely top-4 side from those outside the 8 in 2006: Geelong.

So if end-2006 form lines hold into 2007 (which I know they don't, for at least 3 or 4 teams), the teams that we're playing twice will be dominating the slots on the ladder from 5 to 12.
