    Saddington

From the training reports I have read Saddo looks to have overcome his knee problems and is moving very very well.

Hopefully he can get himself back on the track on an ongoing basis. Always thought he was pretty handy for you blokes and god knows we need all the defenders we can get at Carlton.

Always liked Saddo. His rangy gait was a part of it.

Unforchnly he's not a very good fit with a bottom side whose talent lies principally with young kids-- in the sense that he's not a leader, despite being relatively senior in terms of experience. Carlton's fortunes in 2007 will probably tell the story of his career. If things go well, he could still play for years more and make it to 250 games; if poorly, he'll probably be delisted at the end of '07 and that will be the end. Good luck to him that it's the former.

He's at his best running off an opponent, and so I'd always play him on the wing; Carlton seem to have him pegged as a defender, though.

There was a report this season that his career was over (or possibly I misunderstood?) so it's good news that he's getting another shot.
