David Spriggs has seemingly accepted the reality that being listed as an emergency in a GF was his last involvement in the AFL; taking not just a playing role but an assistant coach's role as well, at Port Melbourne. If he maintains his 2006 form, he'll probably slay them in the VFL.
Josh Willoughby and Stefan Garrubba training for Port and Hawthorn respectively. No surprise that both have gone back to where they came from. Still suspect that little Willo would be a better fit with Adelaide (although he'd certainly get a game sooner with Port). No reason why Stef couldn't get picked up, although he'd still probably be a year or two off pushing for selection.
O' course, permission to train is generally an indication that:
a) a club's having half of a good think about you, and
b) you're nowhere near the top echelon of the draft; if they nab you, it'll be either late in the ND or rookie list.
