    Alternate jumper

I know the Swans' jumper doesn't really clash with anyone but have we developed an alternate strip anyway? I thought the AFL had made it compulsory.

Personally I'd like to see the Swans play in the predominantly white South strip for all Melbourne games.

I agree! The "Sydney Swans" brand is now sufficiently entrenched that it would no longer be impacted by this.

The AFL would probably insist on a third strip for the Heritage game each year but there has been enough variations on the Red V design of the years to deal with that.

From what I read somewhere in the newsletter the alternate strip will be the full white jumper with the red V.

MBH also mentioned on SEN a while back that they may wear this one for all away games, but I have not heard anything else since.

You would think that merchandise wise a home jumper, an away jumper and a heritage jumper makes sense. With more styles of jumper there is the possibility that they will sell more merchandise.

Personally I would like to see the regular heritage jumper as our away strip permanently. But then that style was the first footy jumper I ever owned so I may be biased.

I'd like to see us wear the South jumper for Melbourne matches, and the old jumper with the sash for heritage round.

The only problem I see with the old SM jumper is it looks real good with the black shorts.

If we wear it in Melbourne for away games, do not the home teams wear the black shorts??

Hate the white strip personally. We look like Freo.

                Prefer our main strip.

I don't like the white strip, I find it is as dated as the notion of South Melbourne.

                    I personally find clothes overrated.

Like the ancient Olympians, I believe the purity of football should be reflected in the attire of the atheletes. I know the girls would love to see a finely sculpted ROK steaming across the forward flank to take a strongly contested mark....but for me - I've just got the @@@@s with jumper pulling. If someone wants to pull on the flowing appendage of their opponent when they're naked, that's up to them....but lets keep it simple... for all involved.

It would bring the kiddies back to the game getting it back to the basics. Would also put a different spin on "tackle"

What about the pre-season strip we wore in 97/98 for the then-Ansett cup? Or the original hoops we wore till 1904? Plenty of options on http://footyjumpers.com/

We had a poll on this before last season.

But surely the same can apply to finding a viable alternate strip. I's much rather see Sydney use a past jumper then a totally new and revamped guernsey with little significance. I don't know, it's probably just me and my aberration to change.
