You're a little harsh. Whether by accident or design, it has the following insights that were novel (at least to me):

      1. His friends believe that he's weird.
      2. He actually thinks it's a good idea to go out drinking with Willie Mason (if only he could get away with it).
      3. In fact, he isn't broke.
      4. It's a common misconception that he's a lonely man.
      5. He'd like to teach the Swans to cook (in perfect harmony).
      6. Given a clean sheet with injuries and an average of 2 finals a year, he could make 300 career games by the end of 2008.

I read that yesterday in the Sun-Herald. Got all excited that we got ONE PAGE of AFL ... in summer no less. Wow, was very impressed.

I found it funny that his friends in Melbourne thought it "toffy" that he joined a sailing club. Then I read the reason he joined ... cheap beer, TAB & pokies.

        Go Spida!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I love these comments he made about his little brother...
"He looks exactly like me [when I was younger] - the hair, the look and being skinny," he says. "But he doesn't go out, doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, he doesn't do this and doesn't do that.

"My sisters and dad think he's adopted because he's totally different. I will ring him and ask him politely if he could get his hair cut - that's how stupid I looked when I was young.

"I've told him if he ever plays against me and beats me, I'll hang up the boots."

At least we still get some good quotes from Spida rather than the usual Roos/Swans-speak.

Yep, Was going to say if thats a droll piece then what does that make the rest of the stuff that comes out of the Swans??? Can't remember the last time I saw the words "beer" and "tab" in a Swans piece.

That better not happen too soon!
