At the Club Champion dinner (where he was still on crutches) he told me that he'd be ready to start full training straight after the break. When I asked if he was sure he told me his schedule of improvement so I'd be surprised if he couldn't play golf.

Unless it's full contact golf? Or he's run off with a model? Or had a night on the turps?

Just confirms the mail I got on GF Day that Buchanan was carrying a knee and was having an op the week after the Granny.

Definately the flag that got away.

We should have had (and did have) better legs than WC who had the extra games and extra travel, but injuries negated that advantage.

We still finished all over the top of them. Mistakes in the first half cost us the match, not injuries.
