To small for KPP and not fast enough for a flanker.

Played 2 games for Hawthorn last year. Was terrible in one but was very good in the other where he played a tagging rrole on Joel Bowden (Bowdens worst game of the year)when Hawthorn beat Richmond in Tasmania.

If he can somehow get his kicking right could be a handy 4th or 5th forward.

    Wouldnt expect much.
That's the word I get from a Hawthorn supporter too.

So 2 parts Dunkley, 1 part Diesel and 1 part LRT.

        Should be interesting.

No need to waste our time with a tosser like this.

The AFL eats kids and spits them out, if you ain't willing to devote your total being to play AFL football you won't make it.

Just ask Damian Cupido that, on the other hand Aaron Davey was prepared to move to Melbourne to play for next to nothing in the VFL in the hope that someone gave him a go at AFL level.

Good luck earning the big bucks in the country league in a years time.

Lucky he showed us early enough that he couldn't pass the No D ickhead rule.

                Egos not required thanks.

I guess that players like Suckling (or Barlow or Rowe for that matter) aren't really what the rookie concession was designed for. They have been through the TAC cup and / or Melbourne GPS school system.

The spirit was really to give local boys who haven't had the advantage of a well-developed junior structure to get a chance of at least a year on a list.

I don't blame the club for trying to use the rule to get the most promising talent they can, but I don't think it is achieving what it was intended for. The reality is that the Swans just get to have a bigger rookie list than most clubs. The benefit is probably marginal given the low hit rate of rookies but it is there all the same. And for Brisbane it is probably of greater significance given they have a true pool of local talent from which to select.

And then the NSW rookie scheme is likely to further deplete what scarce benefit the Swans have - though if it gets more NSW players sticking with the game, that has to be for the overall benefit of the sport and, indirectly and in the long term, the Swans.

How does not wanting to move to Sydney indicate he's a @@@@head?

I think you're a @@@@head if you want to move to Sydney.

At the same time though, it shows to the local rookies that they are guaranteed a golden ticket onto the rookie list of the Sydney Swans. Except they have to work, work and work some more to earn that spot.

I recall some time back we had a player on our rookie list who fitted that profile.

                          Name: Brett Kirk.

The levels of football that juniors go through to get to the top get tougher at each level/age group. The final leap into the elite is a quantum leap and only a few eventually qualify.

Except for the footy smarts bit. Right from the start of his time on the rookie list he showed that he knew how to find the football and his decision making always looked decent.

Sorry to keep bangin' on about this, but this quote from Roos says it all:

"... we're not just going to take a NSW kid to fill a spot."

At least it proves that he doesn't exclusively mouth platitudes composed by media and PR people.

I reckon that the Rams should adapt this as their club motto. 'NSW/ACT Rams: just filling spots since 1995'.
