    Irrational????

West Coast used to be my second team.

    -eldest daughter barracks for them
-David Wirrpanda is my favourite player
-saw them train in Perth on a holiday and they signed stuff
    -good eye candy
    -not a Melbourne team
-good losers last year or the ones I met were.

I now hate them with a passion, much more than I ever disliked North Melbourne when they beat us in 96.

This loss really hurts and the supporters are sooooooo smug, except for eldest daughter(she wants to eat). It's not as if their team winning makes them a better person through some sort of osmosis. That foul woman that sat behind me will always be a foul, ungracious, mannerless person.

People at this time of year seem to be people you are catching up on after a long break so they try to start the conversation with some footy stuff. I quickly stop them as I am not over it.

    Is this irrational?

Satch, it's not irrational to hate the budgies.
I sincerely hope your hate for them intensifies over time ... just to @@@@ the eldest off, if nothing else!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

            I say NOT!!

I've been dealing with the same thing from relo's I hadn't seen since that day. It's not ok and it never will be ok to laugh when I wince or grimace at the mention of the game, the result or when I'm offered as I always am "Oh Well, There's always next year"

Well it is now NEXT YEAR and I'm STILL NOT HAPPY OR OVER IT!!!

(deep breath and sighs as she thinks it's time to get back to work )

I'm with you on this one Satchmo it still hurts
Here's my heart and you can break it

Perhaps RWO should employ a 'don't mention the game' policy in the new year, start 2007 on a positive note. It worked for our post counts!

                Didn't we win that game?
My Pokemon brings all the boys to the yard and they're like "Wanna trade cards?"
"Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I can beat you, I've got Charizard!"

This thread made me go back to watch the 05 PF last qrtr this morning. I love it almost as much as the 05 GF.

Yes, but watching it and knowing that they got the last laugh is awful. Having to see their faces.. Hunter.. remembering his dirty face after they won the GF.. yuck.

The only way I could ever get over it is if we beat them in the GF in 2007.

We have the Bl@@dy thing on the Foxtel IQ disk and wont watch it
It has been 3 months and 4 days but who's counting.

i have got to the stage where I say things like "They played a good game for four quarters and we played badly for one" or when pushed "It would not have been just for them to lose"
but my wife reminds me of the truth by saying "Who the Hell cares . We should have won"

It hurts bad and I dont think I will ever get over that crushing despair of leaving the MCG knowing that the Swans FAILED by two points. And to the Eagles of all teams

All we can think of is beating them at Telstra first up. But it has to be a crushing win. No more of this one or two point crap.
Destroy them . Especially that smarmy little "known associate" and "runner" Cousins.
Mr Roos knew what he was doing'
John Longmire is taking it to an art form
We dont know how lucky we are to be Swans supporters

Same...and I always stop watching it when I hear those words after Schneider kicks his last goal,"..and the Swans are in the Grand Final"

Yuh, then fast forward it to when Jolly gets the ball in the last few seconds.
