Columbo picks up on the wrong clues....

    Interview of Faulks on sydneyswans.com.au

ss: Who did you support when you were a kid?

PF: I was an Essendon supporter but last few years I haven't really followed AFL or supported too many AFL clubs.

    ss: Favourite players growing up?

PF: Too many to mention I reckon. I use to run around the backyard thinking I was Tony Lockett or Gary Ablett when I was a young tucker but no-one really, Lloydy (Matthew Lloyd) I suppose.

Not sure that I like this kiddie.

    Nah.
He said he really admired "no-one".
    Matty Lloyd is a no-one.

Doesn't matter MMG ... he's more likely to be put back into the draft than play a firsts game in the near (and not too near) future.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Talk about selective reading. You forgot to mention that he grew up in Oak Park, almost in the shadow of the stands at Windy Hill, so of course, as a kid, he was going to follow the local team.

You say that like there is some excuse for being a bummers supporter!!! Ha!

Being around the corner should have facilitated firebombing of their club.

            There are no excuses.

You're not from Melbourne are you? If you were you would understand the tribalness that has surrounded VFL/AFL clubs in the past, and a little less in the present.

It's easy in Sydney, if you want to support the local team, there is only one to support. In Melbourne, there was always pressure to barrack for the local team if you lived in their area.

I'm not making excuses for him, just stating the facts as they are.
