    THE AFL believes it is winning the fight against illicit drugs with the number of players taking substances decreasing since the controversial policy was introduced.
    Anderson and AFL Players' Association boss Brendon Gale yesterday announced the continuation of the "three strikes" policy with two key changes.

    Club doctors will now be informed the first time a player tests positive.
    The player's name will continue to be kept private until he tests positive a third time.
    The other change to the policy is the contracting of private firm Dorevitch Pathology to run the testing for illicit substances.
