The Footy can't come soon enough. Any form of Footy, even watching a kick around the backyard by my 9 year old, is better than being subjected to the dull scoreless draws of Soccer A league. Bring it on!!!
A champion team will alway beat a team of champions.
hey guys those wanting to go to the nso game against the pies you have to get your tickets at the gate.i rang ticketek yesterday.thats what they said..
Just a reminder to those in Sydney that you can get yer footy fix on Friday 16 February when the Swans 'warm up' for pre-season with a game against the Pies. Usually it's the Bombers but who's complaining.
North Sydney Oval.
I think you'll get some tix from ticketek in about two-weeks time.

Incorrect...here they are, get them while they are hot!
Originally posted by Annie Haddad It's a great arvo out Nat ... you get to watch the footy in tshirts, shorts and thongs ... a novelty at best!!
That kind of sums it all up. It is chance to get rid of the cobwebs, both for the players on the pitch & the fans in the stands. It doesn't really matter what happens on the field & sometimes when the game gets one-sided one tends to find oneself kinda of half watching the match & talking to people around you.
It is a good chance to cast one's eyes on the young fellas going around, to see how they handle the pace & intensity of AFL footy.
It is also pleasurable seeing goalkickers hit the tree with the footy at the northern end and then see the people underneath who aren't watching the match have to scurry away to avoid bits of tree falling on them. (If there was a law suit waiting to happen, it would be at this match under THAT tree! )
Assuming Sydney FC aren't playing a final elsewhere that night, I'll be there. It isn't life or death if I don't go there. but it is generally an OK evening & a decent way to bring in the footy season in Sydney once again.

Originally posted by hammo I travelled up to a practice match against St Kilda in Newcastle last year which at least had most of the seniors playing.
Previous to that I saw us get flogged by Carlton by 150 points at Telstra Stadium in 2004 which was embarassing and as pointless as you'll get.
I enjoy watching the youngsters have a run but to be honest you're better off waiting until the season proper starts and catching some reserves games.
The pre-season games in Newie are heaps better than the Wizard Cup matches that preceed it. they are generally full-on hit outs & are worth going out for.
The wizard cup matches in Canberra, FUUUUUUGETTTTTITTTT!
The commentator coming out with the comment "there doesn't appear to be any form of tactics in this match, does there?"
That kind of sums up what I think of Wizard Cup games these days. it is a shame that they aren't really taken seriously. but i trust Roosey's judgement.
Flags are won in September NOT February!
