Using the AFL mentality that anything other than a match "for the 4 points" is not ridgy didge is not necessarily the same in the Round Ball game. International friendlies are a part of football culture. And being so far away from the players over here a match like this gives us with a much needed chance to see players you normally only ever see on TV. It is go to this match or forever watch the on TV all the time.

It may not be anywhere near as intense as the WCQ was. But if it reaches even 50% of the intensity of that magic night it will still be a major major adrenalin rush. It should sell out as well I think.

the last thing I want to be doing is miss a Swans home game. But if you could imagine what it is like having the Socceroos stars permanantly on the other side of the world, you can perhaps understand more as to why I'm reticent to pass this match up, especially considering I'm not going to Thailand for the Asia Cup this year.

Imagine if you only only one change in a year to see Barry & Goodsey go around; that is the what it is like.

Go to a ' friendly ' , ie , meanlingless football game -that is not deciding world cup or asian cup qualification , or go to a swans home and away match , where it means something if you win or lose......not really a hard decision to make if you are a swans fan

I know this isn't the only reason you're leaning towards the Aus v Uruguay game, but it's a shame regardless. People you know should be the ones most supportive, not the least. Friendly good natured jibing about which even you choose is one thing, death stares, name calling etc seems ridiculous. They're not worth worrying about.

Unless you were joking about this, in which case forget the whole post!
