    On ya Bike.

    Link.
While drivers may encounter the odd duck on a drive through Centennial Park, elsewhere in the east they are now likely to witness the occasional Swan on a bike.

A trend started in late 2005 by forward Ryan O'Keefe has become almost infectious within the football club, with several players now opting to ride a bike to and from training instead of taking the car.

But Jolly has that fancy Mustang to drive! Imagine the fitness Davo would build up if he rode from home to the SCG everyday.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I think the trend was actually started by Maxfield in 2002/2003, I was living just behind Fox Studios at that point and would see him 2 to 3 times a weeks riding to Driver Avenue.

Feel-good story - and feel better for a ride.
Mind you, if all these blokes get as fit as ROK, the rest of the comp will be run off their legs.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Yet another one of the key benefits of playing for the Swans is living within 5km's of the SCG. Most Swans Players live in the eastern subs of Sydney. Whereas in melbourne, the players tend to be scattered all over the place. Hence the preference for the bikes.

Then again, because the public transport is so crap in Sydney, and the roads are so congested, taking a bike just about anywhere is a whole lot quicker than any other means available....

Oddest story around for a while. Bikes are trendy at the moment - everywhere. Last time I drove through C Park the @!@@@@@@s in their lycra shorts and obscure euro brand name t-shirt things were everywhere. Canberra is the same, but we have pretty good cycle lanes here so the @@@@@@@@s don't get run over so often. Just as it was Mulga Bill that caught the cycling craze all those years ago, cycling is simply fashionable again. If you look back through the archives you'll probably find a piece on Dale Lewis and Adam Hueskus (sp?) roller blading throught the park to training...

Yeah but Hueskus was probably wearing a frock at the same time, so back then that was huge news.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Yeh ROK get off the grass. I am sure if you are driving to work and some sheila in lycra with a very tight butt and rather attractive everything pulls up at the lights in front of you, you wont look away in disgust. You get at least a 30-50 second perve.

I think it is funny that he has to get dressed like a twat to ride 5kms. On a bike like that with minimal traffic it would probably take 10-12 minutes.

Did ROK shave his head or something? He has no hair from that picture...
