I'm just curious as to which position people think Nick Davis would best be suited to? He's obviously had regular stints in the forward pocket type role, but i can see him playing well as a roaming half forward, similiar to that of Barry Hall. He has a booming kick, so he doesn't need to be really close to goal, and his foot skills are too good to not have him in the centre/centre half forward position at various stages during a match.
What role 4 Davis?

I'd always thought of him more as a HFF than a forward pocket, with he, Hall and O'Keefe forming the core half forward line. He tends to play a little closer to goal than O'Keefe - probably because he doesn't have the same level of endurance as O'Keefe and hence can't run as hard for so long. But they complement each other quite well. -
Yep - I think half forward working up to wing. Makes a great link from our half back run to our forward line as he is pretty much the best deliverer of the ball in our side.
There is little reason to try to turn him into another O'Keefe and he's wasted in the forward pocket.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

IMHO ND would best be suited to HFF.Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

When you look at either the 2005 highlights video or any of the other DVD's in the Victory Pack, you will see ND on the HFF dropping back to the HB line and providing run through to the forward line. I believe that is the role he plays best. It also means he can use the penetrating kick that he has to best effect.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

Hopefully more time in the midfield.
This will depend on his fitness levels, which are supposed to be good for this season.
We'd be a far more dangerous team with Davo and Goodes running off Spida's ruckwork and kicking long and direct to the forward line, rather than our usual suspects diving on top of the ball for another stoppage."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

Centre....
Give the boy the freedom to control the play in both directions and watch the magic...
I can just see him bombing them through from inside the square on the SCG.... Now that would be fun to watch....Comment

Funny how the exact same thing that makes him capable of producing such brilliant football is the same thing that always gets him in the @@@@ off the field. That's genius for you.Comment

My preference would be to see Davis rotate between the half forward line and acting as an "outside" midfielder.
