    He's so hot right now

What are the thoughts on Dempster for 2007?

I can see him being quite damaging as either a wingman or HBF. Reasonable size, has a very big engine and thumping kick, so if he can become more dangerous he could be a big improver this year.

My tip for the most improved player 2007.

Nup. He needs to work out what to do with the ball when it's in his hands first.

    I'm not sold.

I also heard he can't turn right, which means he just can't turn. Perhaps CB?
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

Probably not in the near future, but I see him as a future full back.

We've been waiting for a while now. He needs to impose himself more on a game.

I've always viewed Dempster as a very promising prospect, but he hasn't really done anything yet, certainly not consistently, just the odd raking kick or strong tackle. IMO 2007/2008 are his 'make or break' years.

The key word in there is if. I agree on most of what you're saying, but it's all based on potential so far, he has to substantiate it.

Dont forget he has been used very defensively so far in his career, mainly in run-with roles.

I think he could be a great run and carry type player. You're right, there is still an if or could, etc but I think he can deliver.

Even with him primarily playing a straight defence role I would have expected to see him do something creative, even if it is just him knowing when to leave his man to go help in defence, or when to run off his man; it just never seems to happen.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I think when he first appeared on the scene everyone assumed hed turn into a key defender now he hanst turned into that a lot of us are not sure where he belongs. i think hes a half back flanker.

Nah i always saw him as HBF or on the wing. We need more penetrating kicks into our forward 50.

Well yes, he can - remember the lead-up to Tadhg's goal in the 2005 GF. And that included a left turn ... But he needs to do it more consistently.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
