    Richmond Practice Match Thread

    Sydney Swans vs. Richmond Tigers
1pm Saturday March 3 at Manuka Oval (Canberra)

    Team:

Ed Barlow, Leo Barry, Paul Bevan, Jude Bolton, Ryan Brabazon, Amon Buchanan, Sean Dempster, Peter Everitt, Peter Faulks, Nic Fosdike, Adam Goodes, Kieren Jack, Darren Jolly, Tadhg Kennelly, Brett Kirk, Matthew Laidlaw, Jarred Moore, Ryan O?Keefe, Michael O?Loughlin, Simon Phillips, Sam Rowe, Tim Schmidt, Earl Shaw, Jonathan Simpkin, Nick Smith, Kristin Thornton, Luke Vogels, Jesse White.

Still no Daniel O'Keefe even though he's not on the injury list.

Good to see flipper back and also JW back in for another helping hopefully to try the backline or just dominate up forward (probably against Gapsar)

Good luck to Spida in his first dig for us.

So all the youngsters and rookies are playing except Currie and the mysterious matt davis. Is that right? Wonder why?

(O'keefe, brennan, O'dwyer all on injured list)

Frustrating for Dan O'Keefe and for us as it would be good to see his skills. But 2007 was never going to be a seniors year for him.

Looking forward to some comprehensive reports from RWO people who'll be at the game.

Man, even with the short squad lists these days, it's confusing to sort this stuff out. Injury list last updated 26 February:
          Jarred Moore Ankle Test
          Stephen Doyle Calf 3 weeks
          Heath Grundy Back 4 weeks
          Luke Ablett Hamstring 4 weeks
          Matthew O'Dwyer Knee 4 weeks
          Adam Schneider Hamstring 4-5 weeks
          Luke Brennan Knee 4-5 weeks
          Lewis Roberts-Thomson Foot indefinite

So, the list of those not playing and not on the injury list: Craig Bolton, Jared Crouch, Daniel 'HSC' Currie, Nick Davis, Barry Hall, Nick Malceski, Ben Mathews, Jarrad McVeigh, Daniel O'Keefe, Ted Richards, and Matt Davis.

Crouch is obviously still injured and being cleverly hidden from the injury list (ssshhhh! No-one will work it out!), and Currie's presumably been 'released' back to Victoria to study. CBolt, Davis, Malceski, Mathews, McVeigh and Richards have all had a run and can sensibly be rotated out of the side to give others a go, and BBBH will turn up when BBBH feels like turning up.

But as for DOK and Matt Davis? Well?

Surely playing competitive games at this level is exactly what these blokes need at this stage in their development. If they're not injured but also aren't yet up to full match fitness, wouldn't you just run 'em off the bench for a few minutes?

I've got a feeling that Matt Davis is going to be the new Heath James. Sometimes, even though there's a mutual attraction and you feel like you could have been really great together, it's clear the relationship isn't going to work long-term. You're just hurting each other by holding on.

            It's not him, it's me.

Count me in on this one.

I say 4 but if he doesn't understand the concept of the new hands on the back rule then 10

                    Sydney won 13.7 to 10.6.

                    Fosdike reported for striking though.

I am starting to feel confident (touch wood) that we will be ready to send the Weagles packing on March 31.

Seems like we've had a good hitout today, aslong as Fossy can escape the striking charge. Does anyone know how serious it is yet?

                              Probably a slap.
