I couldn't get a good price to Melbourne so I booked a flight to Sydney for the victory celebrations.

I don't think there is anything really with the article.

However, it's embarrassing that the ridiculous thread about "arrogant Eagles" is being attributed to more than one fan.

I tried that last year, it didn't work.

She's normally one of the better AFL journos in Sydney though! Must have desperately needed a space-filler is all I can say, it's really a nothing story.

So the West Australians have booked up all the cheap airfares - does anyone know the number of cheap airfares per flight there actually are? You may be surprised that the number of people that have actually purchased the said cheap fair may not be all that high.

You cant say they aren't keen- I wonder how many people will own up to having purchased cheap airfares from Sydney to Melbourne at around the same time?

I'm no Eagles supporter supporter (?) but good on em. We met people at the 2005 granny who had booked in January to come over from Adelaide hoping that Port would make it 2 in a row - and they weren't arrogant, we had a lovely few drinks with them at the Mecure after the game. I think its just a good mixture of forward planning and wishful thinking.

That's a good point Wardy. I recently looked at booking a trip over to Perth and found all the cheap airfares seemed to disappear awfully fast. Those cheapies are always very limited, much like frequent flyer seats.

I purchased airfares to Melb for GF 2 weeks ago $120 ea way. The last 2 yrs we have gone down on the bus. Last yr wasnt the best trip so decided to book early and go by plane. If we dont make it ill use for another time. There is now way I would have got a flight for that price in GF week.

Now that everyone has got a cheap flight, all they have to do is get a grand final ticket!!!
