Bit of a long shot this, but does anyone have an idea as to the location of the Swannies game on the 17th yet or is it way too early to know?

because the last two years we have played there two weeks before the first game. Last year the Saints and the year before the Pies.
Last yr it was the day after St. Paddy's.
Vs Saints in Newy.
I plead everyone to not drink & drive to Newcastle.Comment

Looks like the Swans have requested it be played at Telstra Stadium.
sourceMeanwhile, the Swans are hoping the AFL will grant their request to play their final practice match at Telstra Stadium a fortnight before the West Coast match."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

This provides details of where 6 of the 7 NAB Challenge games will be played but does not provide details of who is playing where.
I have read elsewhere that Collingwood and Richmond are playing at Mildura, so that rules out one of the options.
That leaves possibilities in Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne x 2. I have no idea where Cranbourne is. And one is yet to be confirmed - maybe they're waiting to see whether the Lions make the NAB Cup final, given Leigh Matthews' (fairly justified) complaints about not yet getting a game anywhere close to Brisbane.
I guess the Swans have not had a home game yet either, though nor have they had to leave NSW - geographically if not quite factually.
I see that Freo are playing at Subi this weekend, and Wet Toast in Alice Springs. So the Toasters will probably get the Perth fixture next weekend, and I doubt they'd send us over to play them, given the "GF rematch" billing of round 1 of the real stuff. So we're probably safe there.Comment

Think Waverley Park and then think further South East about 20km give or take a few k's down the Monash Freeway. St Kilda would be a given to be playing in that game seeing as its their VFL teams home ground.Originally posted by liz

Yep, if Brisbane don't make the NAB Cup Final, they will play a game at Cararra. And one is yet to be confirmed - maybe they're waiting to see whether the Lions make the NAB Cup final, given Leigh Matthews' (fairly justified) complaints about not yet getting a game anywhere close to Brisbane.
We have had a metro Sydney game, so we can't complain. Plus I rather us get use to travel considering we do alot of it during the season rather than saying in metro Sydney for most of the pre season and becoming known as a team that fears travel like Adelaide and West Coast have in the past.I guess the Swans have not had a home game yet either, though nor have they had to leave NSW - geographically if not quite factually.
I'm guessing Geelong will get sent over if they lose this weekend, if not the Bulldogs look the most logically. Because as you said we play West Coast Round 1 and there is no point to "ruin" the rivally before the Telstra Stadium clash and Adelaide, the most logical club to send over because they are a) from Adelaide and b) Port are playing Freo in Perth this are the ones who are playing West Coast in the Alice this weekend so that rules them out.I see that Freo are playing at Subi this weekend, and Wet Toast in Alice Springs. So the Toasters will probably get the Perth fixture next weekend, and I doubt they'd send us over to play them, given the "GF rematch" billing of round 1 of the real stuff. Why not just phone the club and ask rather than speculate on here?

Because probably the club doesn't know yet. We were speculating where it might be based on limited information available on the AFL website. They themselves probably haven't filled in all the gaps yet.Originally posted by cruiser
