    Nice Magic article

    Magic milestones

Not a bad article on Magic closing in on the alltime games record for Sydney/SMFC and a chance at moving past Plugger as most goals for Sydney behind Bob Pratt.

Usually a lot of spin in these articles 'best in 5 or 6 years' etc, but as I noted last year, Magic warmed up with the team (on the field 40 mins before the game type warmup) for the first time for at least 2 or 3 years last season. He's injuries are obviously better now than 4 or 5 years ago.

Micky has always been fairly fragile in the injury department. Not sure exactly why but it's pleasing to see him fit, performing and avoiding injuries like he did last year. I reckon Micky is always a good barometer for Sydney. A fit a contributing Micky usually sees us winning a whole lot more than we lose.

A very undertarated player and a huge contributor to our success IMHO.

That's a good description RP, Mick is definitely our barometer.

It's a minor modern day miracle that he managed to play every game last season and our forward line is far more potent when he is there as it allows Baz to push up the ground more.

Our forward line, with Spida's likely addition at times, is sensational at the moment.

Hard to believe that he's played nearly 250 games and is only 30!!

It would be amazing to see him play 300, all for the Swans.

Who would of thought that, of all people, with all of his injuries, Micky would be the first to play 300 for us???

Very encouraging report. Even allowing for a bit of spin, you can see for yourself the change in Mickey - whatever the staff have done they've got him running round like a colt. And the thought that he could improve on last season is enough to make me drool and the opposition weep.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I was going to post this article arfter reading it, but got lazy. Thanks to BBB for doing so.

Micky has always been one of my favourite swans. He and Kels used to be my favourite two players, but obviously Micky stands alone now since Kelly retired. The way he manages his body and gets the best out of himself amazes me, and if he didn't have so many injury problems during his career i'm sure he would've come close to winning a Brownlow at some stage.

If he can have another season even similiar to last year, then the other teams SHOULD be scared. He's the epitome of 'silky skills'

Wow, never seen Mick so lean (not for a long while anyway). He looks brilliant and this might mean he's doing more miles on game day when need be, the staple of the Roos game plan.

It was noticeable in the second half of last year how he was spending more time up the ground instead of just camping in and around the goal square. All due to greater fitness. Now with a pre-season behind him and being fitter than ever, we can look forward to even more of that. The guy has amazing skills and handling, and having him push up to HF/wing at times can only be a huge positive for us.

God love him. I love watching Mick.
                      He's a living legend.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Saw the full picture today - Mick looks like a 25 yo in the prime of his career not an aging 30 yo crock. Let's cross fingers he stays injury free.

                          Magic nearing record

Should Michael O'Loughlin remain injury free he become the most capped Swans player in round 14.
