I doubt there'll be a direct train, you'll probably have to change at Lidcombe. No direct buses on the Olympic routes either.

My brother(Carlton) and sister-in-law(Swans) are house/cat sitting again in Petersham. They are going.

Mind you I think they presume there will be trains like there were for the Preliminary final. Can you still go by boat?

I have little doubt they won't be running the direct trains. But a couple of years ago when we played a practice game out there, they weren't even running the shuttle between Lidcombe and OP.

I guess we'll all receive an email from the club sometime this week telling us all about the transport arrangements.

How much does it cost to park there (outside Blockbuster events)?

I've never had a problem catching a train from Lidcombe to Olympic Park via the sprint platform (trust me, when you are going to see the Sydney Swifts vs the Perth Orioles or similar, there AIN'T gonna be a big crowd). They should be running every 10-15 minutes or so.

Otherwise, parking can be had pretty easily at P3, just down the road opposite the state sports centre.. I believe the max you will pay is around $11.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I still haven't gone mine and i don't plan on paying $20.00 for 2 tickets when we are members and we can get in free.

Oh well. I'm sure they'll get here soon.

If the Hillsongers are on at ACER, you would think that they will be running an Olympic park service, other than the sprint??

I mean they (the Hillsongers) would be looking at a 5K crowd on their own.

(sister in law is a hillsonger here in London and they get 5K to their services EVERY week)

I'd not be getting to the SCG much earlier than that mate. Especially lugging annoying flagpoles around on crowded buses at peak hour.

The annoying bit is having to get a return train ticket between Croydon & Olympic Park if you have a Red Travelpass.

Still, it will be good to see the boys go round. I'm getting a good feeling about this season already to be honest.

There should be more than enough room up the back for everyone who goes. Our lot sat up there against the Lions a couple of years ago. Made a racket, gave Akka heaps (and he WAS listening as well )
