The guy clearly doesn't understand the role of the media and his role as a professional footballer. The media is not there to give him a hard time, they're there to inform the members, supporters and sponsors who pay a lot of money to watch this team play at home and away. Crouch is seen as a key player so if he's got an injury surely the supporters deserve to know what it is? If he's not playing his best, why is that? Otherwise all we'd have in uninformed speculation on RWO.
Without supporters watching on television or at the games the Swans and the 15 other clubs would not exist as professional clubs and not be able to pay the big bucks to blokes like Crouch.
A little co-operation with the media is not that much to ask.
Barry Hall had the same problem after the grand final and is still whingeing about the coverage he got.
The Swans need to realise that as their profile goes up, so has media interest in all aspects of the club. They can't expect to get their daily fluff pieces fed to the media by the PR department run verbatim without a fair share of critical analysis every now and then. At the moment the likes of Crouch don't seem to understand that."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

That's the problem in Sydney - The players are generally insulated from the "negative" media, as opposed to teams in Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide.
When they do get press that isn't "feel good" but analytical or criticises their form etc. they get all touchy.
By the way, Crouchy's head being targetted? Unfortunately that may just be related to his height.Comment

He is always extremely nice to me when i speak to him so to say the media has had an affect on him as a person i think that is just rubbish. Last time i read it isnt a crime to say how you feel so cut the guy some slack. He is payed good money to play football not to have stories written bout him which are not true. Yes i wanna know how bad the injury is and how long he will be out but really so we need to know every little thing that is wrong with him!
Anyway ill let you get back to bagging him now!

Hi All,
Did anyone else hear Crouchy on SEN last night?
He spoke very well and at length about the drugs problem.
He also touched on the gambling saga, as he is the mentor to Kieren Jack and also Ryan Brabazon.
Nice to finally post on this prestigious board!
I'm forever reading posts, but never got around to registering.Ed Considine's day out - Round 3, 16th April 1995.
11 Kicks, 13 Handballs, 8 Marks, 1 Goal, 1 Behind, 1 Tackle, 1 Hitout, 3 Brownlow votes (his only votes)

There was a scare for the Swans during the second quarter when Jared Crouch, playing his first senior game since round 12 last year, was left limping after a contest, but he was able to run it off.I wish my weed was EMO so it would cut itselfComment
