AFL may expand to 18 teams

At least that is one possibility according to the Fat Controller. He will do anything to save his old club.

    Highly unlikely......

18 teams into a 22 round competition simply doesn't fit.

Unless they plan on extending the H&A season, it won't happen.

I can see them moving teams around, but not adding others. This has been on the cards for a while.

For mind, this stunt is just so they can say they "explored" the options but found the only viable solution was relocation when they up root the Kangaroos to the gold coast. The Hawks will soon follow to another yet TBA location.

Very good point. I actually hadn't thought of that, but it does make a lot of sense.

        Hawks will move to Tassie.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Dawks and Roos to run 15th & 16th this year will help the fat controller accelerate his plans...

It's a pity, because the Tassie Tigers sounds much better.

I've always thought so too. However, because Richmond have such a large supporter base in Melbourne its probably unlikely to happen.

Can you explain to me then how 16 into 22 fits ??

Less Victorian teams, if the AFL wants to truly be a "national" competition.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore
