    Yeah - I am a supporter - I support the Swans.

Clueless! It's an on-field rivalry. It's about football.
    Fix your tag @@@@.

You don't know anyone on ICE do you? I have no pity for him AT ALL. He is a high profile AFL footy player, he should know better. He is paid a LOT to do what we all dream of doing. So get off your high horse for once..its sickening.

Sorry for having no sympathy over the fool.

Funny that the same people who are saying that we should pitty this fool are the same people who always frown on other swan supporters on this site for showing a bit of passion and the same who frown over PAUL ROOS. Where is (Mod edit:Play the ball, not the man) that would make it complete!

Not joy Chow (OK, maybe just a little bit) ... more a sense of "finally the WCE are doing something about their senior players bringing the game into disrepute. Better them being seen to be doing something about it before the AFL step in, don't you think? All the talk over the last few weeks re fletcher, cousins, et al, was beginning to force the hand of the AFL. People are asking "why do the WCE get away with so much". It's bad for the "game".

We were only discussing this a few weeks ago. In the words of Uncle Andrew, why tarnish the image of 620-odd other players who toe the line?
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Mr Mod you stuffed up my tags.

Mod edit: Appears to be some error in the vB code ... I was wondering what had happened myself.

        Me Edit: I thought so

Not too sure what 'pitty' means but I think I get your drift. I would say that 40% of us on here have so far expressed our concern over his situation and agree that the most important thing at this time is his personal welfare, and if required, rehabilitation.

Whether or not that same 40% also frown on passion and Paul Roos at the same time is highly debatable. (In fact, it's down right incorrect and, frankly, has nothing to do with it).

As much as I didn't like the goal being scored, you must admit that it was worthy of a celebration. Put him in a Swans jumper and you'd have been lapping it up.

Remember Goodes' goals in the '05 and '06 GF's?
And the man who started it all, the Schneiderman . . . . .

I got done drink driving at 21. My mum is a pretty harsh critic normally and this time want all that different. One thing she does say though is we all make mistakes, its a fool who doesnt learn from them.

Ben Cousins is a fool - how many times does it take for someone to learn to pull their head in. He doesnt have my sympathy at all. A bloke who earns 500k pa who thinks he's above everyone else deserves what he gets - after all hes not some poor uneducated hick(pardon the pun) who hasnt had the opportunity to know better.

I have a good friend who blew well over 500k in 2 years shooting speed and smoking meth who has survived (5months in rehab at a psych hospital in Sydney). This bloke is well known in certain community circles and was regarded as one of the best at his craft nationwide. From what he has told me it was his decision to turn his life around and that is the only reason I believe he came through.

If Ben has drug problems I wish him well but unless he realises them for himself and wants to do something about it they are far from over.

              Don't feel sorry.

I don't know how anyone could feel sorry for this lowlife who happens to be a good AFL player. Did anyone force him to take drugs. Maybe we could have won the last GF if everything had been equal.

It is true, he is paid a lot, but he has earnt every cent of it. Apart from Nathan Buckley, he is the most dedicated AFL athlete I have seen. Unlike Buckley, his results have also equalled team success. He's earnt it.

As soon as he stopped meeting club objectives, they have suspended him so now he's not being paid. Good rationale to me.

So what is his problem that we're all so keen to condem? More speculation and scuttlebutt to follow no doubt.

His indescretions of the past have the football media out to hang him before the charges have been read in fact. He is in part, a product of the loose team code of ethics at WCE. They have given their boys the benefit of the doubt far too regularly in case it was at the expense of onfield success, however that may prove to be a false economy in the currency of which buys TRUE football success...the stuff wrapped in humility and dignity.

You reckon - Kouta is way ahead in terms of dedication, so was Paul Kelly and neither of these blokes were @@@@wits.

Typical - lets blame everyone else bar the individual. No wonder society is up @@@@ creek and kids don't know any better. No one is willing to take blame and rather fob off the blame to others.

I hope you all give the weagles a standing ovation and clap them when they run onto the field to let them know they are all in your thoughts and you are all thinking about poor benny.

But hey it's not bennilla Ices fault - its those around him who buy the stuff for him, light up, put the pipe to his mouth and then force him to inhale - against his wishes.

Its irrelevant whether he's paid a lot. Those sproating that rubish probably has some jealousy issues. People get paid what the market pays them. He, like many others, including IT workers, just happen to be in a high demand area.

Now, to say we dont have an off-field rivalry with the Eagles is wrong. You couldnt get more chalk and cheese clubs or supporters. The rivarly extends beyond the boundary line, and is only tempered by distance.

Mate he was 5 years ago. Sure injuries have bogged him down..but do you remember when Eade played Goodes on him early on in his career? Kouta ripped him a new one.
