    Sheahan's top 50

    Sheahan's top 50

The usual debates will ensue. I'm surprised Kerr is not higher.

    5 Swans: Hall at 2, Goodes at 6, O'Keefe #17, Kirk, #20, CBolt #37. Seems about right.

The Swan I would like to see on this list at year's end is Kennelly. To get there, he needs to have an influence on more games.

I personally can't see how Barry Hall can be rated ahead of Adam Goodes and No.2 overall....

His pre-season ratings are intended to be predictions of the coming season, rather than historical assumptions. Which pretty much means any bizarre selections can be "defended".

Am I the only one expecting Spida to have a "Sheahan Top 50" year? If not considered now, he should definitely be there come the end of the season (maybe this should have been in the mark-my-words thread).

Still can't see the sense in having a prediction that Hall will be better than Goodes seeing that Goodes is coming off a Brownlow year....

And seeing that he uses a crazy rationale based on Jack Dyer's old saying "A good big man will beat a good small man, unless that small man is very, very good". Yeah, good thinking Mike!

The comment re Kerr just seems hurtful given current revelations.

Looks like another lean year for last years bottom 8......

From his list, last years lowest finishing teams have the following.....

                Collingwood - 1
                Kangaroos - 1
                Tiggers - 1
                Pussies - 2
                Dawks - 2
                Blues - 2
                Lions - 2

11 of the top fifty between 7 teams....

I see at least 6 of the 2007 bottom 8 in that list above...

The other nine clubs have at least 3 each in the list..... An average of four each.... That shows the gap between the top and bottom 8....
